FAQ's...

  1. Why should my business have a website?
The Internet is global. Anyone in the entire world can get on the Internet and access a website.

The number of computer users and people getting online is growing each day. In the last couple of years, the Internet has exploded in the number of individuals and businesses establishing a presence on the Internet.

It seems as though everywhere you look (TV, magazines, movies, radio) you see or hear www.companyname.com. All of the major corporations in the U.S. have websites. The Internet allows a multimedia experience for visitors to websites.

There is no end to the information you can add to your site.

  2. Isn't it expensive to have a business website?
Well that all depends on what your needs are. If all you need are a few pages to show future customers who you are and what you can offer them, it can cost as little as $549 bucks plus hosting and Domain name. You can even receive extra pages for referring people to Tarheel Web Design. See our Specials section for more info.

  3. I don't know anything about the Internet or computers.
You don't have to, we take care of it all. I'm sure you know the value of marketing and advertising. You may already have advertisements in the phone book on the radio or television. A business website is more than a permanent advertisement on the Internet for people to learn more about your business. Its also a potential storefront, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  4. The Internet is very large, with millions of websites, how is anyone going to find my website?
By implementing keywords that are associated with your business, you can increase your website present on major search engines. Of course, you can also list your website address on letterheads, brochures, e-mail signature files, and business cards.

  5. How long does it take to get a website up and running so that customers can visit it?
We can usually create a website in 7-10 days, depending on the complexity. In the meantime we will be registering your domain name and getting the hosting space set up. This usually takes 4-5 days. By the time the registration process is complete we are ready to start moving your site to the Internet.

  6. How will I know that I'll be satisfied with my website?
We take care of that by uploading the in-progress website as we complete pages to the server. You can get on the Internet and see your website as we work on it and inform us of changes that you would like made. Tarheel Web Design offers FREE consultation and a 100% Guarantee on all our designs. We will make changes for the first month for free until you are satisfied with it. "We are not happy until you are happy!"

  7. How do we get started?
You prepare several pages outlining what you would like on your website, what you want on the main page, logos, photos, etc. as if you were preparing an ad campaign for a magazine. You can provide us with existing brochures or pamphlets that you have to help in the design process. Of course, we work closely with you to suggest webpage layout in accordance with HTML code.

  8. Is there a limit to how many pages I can have on my website?
Absolutely not. Of course if you want 100 pages on your website with very frequent changes, the fees will increase accordingly for creation and management. Most businesses should be able to feature their services and products and whatever else they would like with about 4-9 pages.

  9. Can I receive e-mail on my website?
Absolutely. With the Economy Package, you get 6 fully configurable e-mail accounts. You can choose any name to put in front of your domain name such as john@yourcompany.com, sales@yourcompany.com, info@yourcompany.com, etc. and it all goes into your website's mail box in your server space. You can check your e-mail from any computer with Internet access using the servers web based e-mail client. Also, you can forward any e-mail sent to your domain to your ISP e-mail account, and receive your mail as you normally would.
